A private institution in Karachi has launched Pakistan’s inaugural AI-driven educator, establishing a new standard in the nation’s educational landscape.
An AI teacher named Ainee has been introduced at a school in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, specifically aimed at supporting fifth-grade students in subjects such as mathematics, science, and languages.
This AI educator is capable of addressing student inquiries, tracking academic performance, and customizing lessons to suit individual learning speeds. The initiative integrates cutting-edge artificial intelligence with traditional classroom instruction, with the goal of delivering a personalized and adaptable educational experience.
This significant advancement corresponds with Pakistan’s growing emphasis on the integration of artificial intelligence across multiple sectors. In a related initiative, the federal government is preparing to introduce its inaugural Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy by the beginning of 2025.
The policy will focus on strengthening cybersecurity, enabling real-time detection and response to cyber threats, and helping to prevent data breaches. It is also expected to bolster the digital economy and support the country’s vision of becoming a “Digital Pakistan.”
The upcoming AI policy aims to improve Pakistan’s standing in global cybersecurity rankings. Currently ranked among the top 40 nations in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, Pakistan aspires to move into the top 10–15 in the coming years, leveraging AI-driven initiatives.
At the Cyber Threat Intelligence 2024 conference, Syed Junaid Imam, a member of the IT sector at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, remarked that the artificial intelligence policy would place significant emphasis on cybersecurity. He underscored the importance of AI in maintaining a secure cyberspace, reiterating the government’s dedication to promoting digital transformation.
